Mary Donna Adamson, 80, of New Richmond, died Jan. 24.
Adamson grew up in New Richmond and Bethel and graduated from Bethel-Tate High School in 1950.
She was a secretary with Hotel Employees and Restaurant Employees Union Local 12 in 1950 and became president in 1989. She retired after 55 years. She won many business awards and under her leadership the Union flourished because of her sense of fairness.
Adamson married Stanley Adamson, owner of Hamersville Electric and Plumbing Supply in 1974 in Bethel. She handled accounting for the business for more than 35 years.
She loved her church, the Bethel Church of the Nazarene, where she was a pianist and choir member for many years. She also enjoyed gardening, painting, cooking, baking and antiquing, especially for depression glass.
Adamson is survived by her husband Stanley, brothers Don (Blanche) Davis and Dan (Janie) Davis, children Maralah (Les Asch) Rose-Asch, Eric Rose Rodney (Barb) Adamson and Raye Jene (Bernie) Doddo, grandchildren Shane, Ambera, Alissa, Alex, Ashley and Brandon, great-grandchildren Jordan, Jacob, Caleb, Gianna, Adrianna, Asher, Eli and Ephram and many nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Visitation 4 p.m. Jan. 27 and services 10:30 a.m. Jan. 28 at Bethel Church of the Nazarene in Bethel. Interment at Tate Township Cemetery. Memorials to Bethel Church of the Nazarene, 50 E. Water St., Bethel, OH 45106.
