Rev. James Robert Chain Sr., 89, of Bethel and Goshen, died Jan. 17 in Hamilton County.

Chain was a clergyman for the Presbyterian Church.

He is survived by his children Bob and Don Chain and Ruth Rieger, nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife Clara Cunningham Chain, daughter Susan Grambsch, a great-grandson and siblings Irene Mulhorn, Mona Chain and Norma Krause.

Services 3 p.m. Jan. 20 at Bethel Murdoch Presbyterian Church. Memorials to the church.
