Local artists will showcase their work Jan. 26 and 27 in the village of New Richmond during the 13th annual Destination Artists event.
The event runs from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. both days and features a slew of artists who create paintings, quilts, photographs, crafts and much more.
“It really is a fun outing,” David Johnson, one of the event organizers, said.
Johnson said it’s a great weekend for residents to get out and see the work of local artists.
Johnson said his wife, Mary Mark, will be opening her studio, located in the church on Walnut Street, to showcase and sell her work.
Johnson said several local restaurants will also feature artists during the event including Front Street Cafe, Buffalo Joe’s and Anna Ree’s Andouille Restaurant in New Richmond.
He said the restaurants are a good place to grab a meal and see even more artwork during the event.
“It’s an art show, and the food operations are really nice as well,” Johnson said about Destination Artists.
The artists who will showcase their work at the event include Mary Mark, a painter, Linda Franklin, a photographer, Virginia Hall, a painter, Pat Statzer, a quilter and doll crafter, Nancy Swats, a gourd carver and painter, Bernard Gleason, a water color painter, and more.
Johnson the annual event is always held the weekend before Super Bowl weekend.
