The Clermont County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the death of a 2-year-old boy that occurred Dec. 2 in Stonelick Township.

According to a release from Clermont County Sheriff “A.J.” Tim Rodenberg, deputies responded to a call early in the morning Dec. 2 from family members who found the 2-year-old boy in the backyard swimming pool at 2921 Jackson Pike.

The boy was transported to Clermont Health-Mercy Hospital for emergency treatment. He was later pronounced dead at Clermont Mercy Hospital.

Sheriff Rodenberg later released the name of the boy, Jared Lee Tincher.

Sheriff Rodenberg said in a release that Jared’s body was taken to the Hamilton County Coroner’s Office for autopsy and forensic tests.

“We have no information or evidence at this time that the death of Jared was anything other than a tragic accident, and there is no indication of foul play,” Sheriff Rodenberg said in an email.

Sheriff Rodenberg said they are continuing to investigate the incident and will release additional information if anything new is revealed from the investigation or the coroner’s report.
