The Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) District 8 announces the following opportunity for public comment on the proposed culvert replacement project at Pattison Park on route US-50 in Clermont County.
Project Description:
ODOT proposes to replace culvert CLE-50-1026, which is located under US-50 230 feet west of the entrance to Pattison Park. This work will occur as part of repaving project CLE-US50-2.21. To construct and maintain the culvert, 0.14 acres of permanent right-of-way will be acquired from the owners of the park, the Clermont County Park District. The recreational components, including the picnic area, lodge, gazebo, fishing lake, playground and walking trails, are afforded protection under Section 4(f). Due to the scope of the proposed undertaking and the presence of Section 4(f) property, measures to minimize harm have been developed by the Federal Highway Administration that create a de minimis impact (as defined in 23 CFR 774.17) on the property. A de minimis impact is one that will not adversely affect the features, attribute, or activities qualifying the Section 4(f) property (Pattison Park) for protection. Work on the proposed culvert will occur within the scheduled construction period of April 15, 2014, to October 31, 2014.
Opportunity for Public Comment:
Due to the permanent right-of-way being acquired for work on the culvert on Pattison Park property and that the park has unrestricted public recreational access, it is subject to the requirements of 23 CFR 774, Section 4(f). In order to proceed forward with construction and maintenance activities, ODOT must first be in compliance with this requirement. Thus, ODOT is posting the project information to obtain public input regarding the proposed work.
Comments on the proposed culvert replacement at Pattison Park, US-50, PID #85135, may be sent by November 9, 2012, to the following contact:
