James Gaskins, 75
James Elmer Gaskins, 75, of Goshen, died Sept. 10.
Gaskins served in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War as a master sergeant and was a mechanic for fighter jets for 20 years. He also worked for the United States Postal Service Dalton Street in Cincinnati.
He grew up in Mt. Adams, was a newspaper boy and worked for the Western Union and Dual Lite before joining the U.S. Air Force.
He is survived by his wife Shirley Gaskins, daughters Julie (Lee) Pipkin and Tammy (Robert) Payne, sister Gertrude (Pete) Goins, grandchildren Jason (Janet) Creef, Justin (Crystal) Creef, Brian and Angela Payne, great-grandchildren Finley and Seth Creef and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents Charles and Flossie Gaskins, brothers Norman and Allan Gaskins and half-sister Edna Elbers.
Visitation 1 p.m. until 2 p.m. services Sept. 13 at Evans Funeral Home in Milford.
