Can Proffitt, 87, of Bethel, died Sept. 14 at Hospice of Hope Ohio Valley Inpatient Center in Seaman.

Proffitt is survived by his sons James, Paul, David and Daniel Proffitt, daughters Sharon Temple, Diane Burnett and Donna Colyer, numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife Lola Racener Proffitt, sons Kenneth and Thomas Proffitt and daughter Goldie Chandler.

Visitation 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. services Sept. 19 at Northside Baptist Church in Bethel. Interment at Tate Township Cemetery in Bethel.
