Pastor Richard Deems and Sharon Deems at Freedom in the Rock church, 3187 South Bantam Road, Bethel.
A two-day revival will be held at Freedom in the Rock Church June 29-30.

The nondenominational Bible ministry is located at 3187 South Bantam Road near East Fork State Park.

Pastor Richard Deems says that he believes in standing at the foot of the cross and preaching the word.

“I teach that there is a heaven to gain, and that it’s about a one-on-one relationship with Jesus Christ,” Pastor Deems said.

Pastor Deem’s wife Sharon says that she and her husband have been blessed with the church for a reason.

“We’ve got a vision here for people to know the Lord for themselves,” Sharon Deems said. “We want the community to know we’re here. God put us here for a reason.”

Pastor Deem says that the church has been blessed with everything it needs.

The picturesque church in the country needs a roof, but the doors are still open, Deems said. The church doesn’t have running water, but is has a nice kitchen and a clean outhouse.

“What did they do 2,000 years ago? They had outhouses and they still worshipped Jesus,” he said. “Come and see what the Lord is doing.”

Sunday school is held Sunday at 10 a.m. Services are Sunday at 11 a.m. and 6 p.m., and Wednesday at 7 p.m.
