Non-denominational church is growing in Owensville

Christian Faith Fellowship Associate Pastor Skay Rigney, left, and Pastor Ron Slater in the church sanctuary.
The church’s pastor is Ron Slater, who has been in the ministry for nearly 30 years. Slater describes Christian Faith Fellowship as a Bible-based church.
“We’re very big on scripture, and we’re very big on Jesus,” Pastor Slater said. “Those are our two big emphases, and Jesus is first.”
The church originally met in members’ homes, but the congregation quickly became large enough that other accommodations had to be found. The church now meets at the old elementary school in Owensville.
Associate Pastor Skay Rigney says that the church’s Sunday school is set up like a one-room school, with all ages participating together.
“We love having the youth here,” Rigney said. “They just love to learn about Jesus and it’s fun to have them in church.”
The church has active men’s, women’s, and children’s groups, and members enjoy the family night.
The church is also very active in supporting local charities and mission work.
Services and Sunday school are at 10 a.m Sunday. Wednesday night Bible study is at 7 p.m.
