Glen Este’s Drew Kearns was named to the First Team after qualifying for the state tournament.

The Fort Ancient Valley Conference announced its All-Conference Wrestling teams earlier this month, which were dominated by the purple and white of Glen Este.

 

The Trojans landed four members on the First Team, five on the Second Team and added one more as an Honorable Mention.

The Trojans finished second in the FAVC Meet, but sent numerous wrestlers on the road upstate, led by Drew Kearns, a 132 lbs. wrestler, who made it all the way to Columbus for the state meet.

Kearns, a First Team selection, won his weight class at the FAVC Meet and finished the season with a 37- 9 record and 24 pins.

Also joining Kearns as conference champions were Caleb Ervin (113 lbs.), Max Davis (138 lbs.), John Mikolay (160 lbs.), all of whom were named to the First Team.

Ervin finished the year with a 28-10 record and 18 pins. Davis went 30-10 on the year with 12 pins and Mikolay went 34-9 with 15 pins.

On the second team, the Trojans were represented by Matthew Sicurella (120 lbs.), Michael Stamper (126 lbs.), Matt Kennedy (152 lbs.), Austin Rowan (182 lbs.) and Shane Blevins (195 lbs.).

Devin Obermeyer was the named an Honorable Mention for his work in the 170 lbs. weight class. Obermeyer finished the season with a 20-21 record. He also notched 11 pins.

For Milford, they were represented by Will Dentino on the All-Conference team as an Honorable Mention. Dentino, who wrestled at 138 lbs. had a record of 8-5 for the year. He also was able to record six pins.
