In 2011 the business, which is located at 229 East Main Street, entered a new phase of its existence. Last November the business’s founders, Skip and Mary Lou Parrott, sold the shop to their daughter and her husband, Trisha and Lee Brasfield.
Trisha has worked at the flower shop since 1991, so customers have found a continuity in the quality of service they have come to expect even as the business passed to the second generation of the family.
Trisha and her husband Lee have two employees, Mickey Rammel, who has been a designer since 1988, Annette Bornemann who has rejoined the shop, and Terry Bryant, who has been their delivery driver since 2010, at the flower shop.
Batavia Floral Creations and Gifts specializes in funeral and wedding designs.
“We offer a wide variety of fresh flowers, getting shipments from our local wholesalers we have been with since 1987,” Trisha Brasfield said. “We pride ourselves on the quality of our flowers and their long-lasting quality.”
The shop also offers indoor plants, including dish garden planters, indoor blooming plants, and seasonal indoor and outdoor blooming plants.
Other items available are fruit, gourmet and specialized gift baskets. The shop carries Weatherland wind chimes, inspirational wind chimes and afghans.
Batavia Floral Creations and Gifts carries candy bouquets, which are a nice alternative to floral arrangements, along with stuffed animals and balloons, silk arrangements, including customized home decor silk arrangements.
Batavia Floral Creations and Gifts offers delivery to the entire Clermont County area, in addition to parts of Brown and Hamilton counties. The shop also uses a delivery service to deliver its products to Hamilton County, Fairfield, Hamilton, and parts of Northern Kentucky.
Brasfield said that she and her husband plan to expand their gift lines in the future, and that they want to expand while maintaining their current high level of quality and service.
