Bob Proud
The County Commissioners Association of Ohio has again named Board of Clermont County Commissioners President Bob Proud as chair of the Justice and Public Safety Committee. The committee will make recommendations on a variety of criminal justice issues in Ohio.

“Given the fiscal challenges that confront counties, it is critical that we find better ways to run our court and criminal justice systems with the same or fewer dollars,” said President of CCAO Deborah Lieberman. “Many counties spend 65 percent or more of their budget on public safety and justice programs; I welcome Bob’s leadership as we look for new ways to save tax dollars.”

“I have always had a strong interest in criminal justice and look forward to working on programs and initiatives that can save money, reduce recidivism, and make our communities safer,” said Commissioner Proud, who also chaired the committee in 2011.

Commissioner Proud is in his sixth term as a Clermont County commissioner; he serves on a number of local, regional, state and national committees and boards. Proud is chairman of the state advisory committee for Reasoned and Equitable Community and Local Alternatives to Incarceration of Minors (RECLAIM OHIO) with the Ohio Department of Youth Services and also serves on the National Association of Counties (NACo) Justice and Public Safety Steering Committee.
