The Holly Hill Elementary School community rallied last week to support the victims of the tornado that struck Moscow Friday, March 2.

Holly Hill principal Nancy Parks said that as soon as she heard about the tornado, she knew that everyone would want to do something to help. She announced the following Monday that the school would hold a food and clothing drive, and the response was tremendous.

Parks said that she tries to instill in the students the importance of helping those in need and that they are always wonderful about giving back.

“Everyone in the school community, students, teachers, staff, participated in this drive,” Parks said. “This was a community effort to bring in things for victims of the tornado.”

In one short week, several large piles of canned goods, blankets, bottled water, diapers, and many other items were collected and donated to the Red Cross for the Moscow community.
