Willows Bend, a development in Miami Township has be selected to be the site of Homearama 2012. The 50th anniversary of the home show will be June 9-24.
Homearama, the popular home show organized by the Home Builders Association of Greater Cincinnati, will be coming to Clermont County for the first time next summer.

Willows Bend, a Hal Homes development located in Miami Township, was selected to be the 2012 Homearama site, and will feature at least seven homes.

“We go through a rigorous process every year,” Dan Dressman, executive director of HBA Greater Cincinnati, said about selecting a site. “Willows Bend was selected primarily because of its accessibility.”

Dressman said the development, off of Interstate 275 and Wards Corner Road, was selected after being nominated by a developer in the HBA. Once different developments have been nominated, a committee evaluates the sites before selecting one to host the annual home show.

In addition to its accessibility, Dressman said other reasons Willows Bend was chosen include its location in the Loveland City School District as well as the rolling terrain and variety of lots available in the development.

And while Homearama 2012 marks the first Homearama in Clermont County, it also marks the 50-year anniversary of Homearama, which began in Cincinnati in 1962.

Dressman said the HBA is excited to celebrate 50 years, and will be introducing some bells and whistles at the 50th anniversary event.

So far, seven builders have been identified to participate in Homearama including Artisan Estate Homes, Fischer Homes, Hal Homes, Justin Doyle Homes, Schnicke Company, Walker Homes and Zicka Homes. Dressman said up to 15 lots will be available for builders.

Similar to all Homearama events, builders will construct the homes, designers will decorate the homes and then guests will be able to tour the homes.

Whether guests are looking for layout ideas or trying to build the perfect man cave, Dressman said Homearama provides them with the opportunity to get ideas and ask questions.

“A lot of people look forward to it every single year,” Dressman said. “They work their summer vacations around it, we’ve heard.”

Homearama 2012 will be held June 9-24 and homes will be open from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m. Monday-Thursday and noon to midnight on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Tickets are $13 at the door, or $11 if purchased ahead of time at Kroger. Parking is free, and children 12 years old and younger are free.

“It’s exceptional that we’re going to be able to do a show in the challenging market,” Dressman said about the 2012 show. “We’re excited it is the 50th anniversary and we’re excited it’s going to be the first show in Clermont County.”
