One woman who attended the Workforce One of Clermont County job fair last Friday started a new job today as an accountant.

Many others hired by one of the 14 area employers participating at the job fair will begin their new positions in the next few days and weeks.

“It was a great turnout and many companies were able to find qualified candidates for jobs they currently have open at their businesses,” said Workforce One Business Services Representative Cathy Sahlfeld. More than 265 people attended the job fair.

“We have had a hard time filling several positions at our company for skilled press operators and for workers in our finishing department,” said Shawnee Airgood, accepting applications for Multi-Color in Union Township at the job fair. “We got a lot of good candidates today; we will review their applications and call many in for interviews.”

“This is the first time we’ve participated in a job fair like this and the turnout has been incredible,” said Gary Elfers with Affordable Language Services. “We have found strong candidates for employment as interpreters and we have several individuals already selected for second interviews for office positions. I am impressed with the wide selection of candidates that range from entry level to highly educated with amazing credentials.”

Sahlfeld said it has been rewarding for her to see so many people walking out with leads for employment or actual jobs. “We welcome anyone in the area that is looking for a job to visit us for help,” she said. “We are open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. and offer free assistance, including help with writing a resume. We have computers, printers, and many more services that can help.”

Workforce One is located at 756 Old SR 74 in Union Township.
