Clermont County hosts Third Annual Masonic Cornhole Championship Tournament

Christy Paff of Greater Cincinnati and Jeff Root of Mariemont paired together as a team in the Third Annual Masonic Cornhole Tournament at the Clermont County Fairgrounds.

The Third Annual Masonic Cornhole Championship Tournament took place at the Clermont County Fairgrounds, Owensville. The event was sponsored by Crime Stoppers Tristate. This was the first year the event took place in Clermont County.

The proceeds from the event will be used to benefit Spotlight Cincinnati and Crime Stoppers Tristate.

The champion of the double elimination Competitive Division earned a Silver Ticket Doubles Package and a berth in the American Cornhole Organization’s World Championship Tournament that will take place Jan. 5-8, 2012, in Tunica, Ms.

The Competitive Division champions were Brandon Hall and Greg Eldridge, A. J. Gold and Willie Wall were runners-up, and Doug McGinnis and Dennis Ross of Cincinnati were third.

The Novice Division champions were Benina Miller and Al Ross of Cincinnati, second place was gained by Tim Northcutt and Candy Vogel, and third was earned by Pat Minton and Steve Tarter of Hamilton.

Jeremy Fogle is the Worshipful Master of the Oakley Lodge #668. He served as the tournament chairman.

He said, “I was estatic about the partnership with the Crime Stoppers. . . I liked the fairgrounds there in Owensville in Clermont County. We may be coming back to Clermont County for next year’s tournament.”
