Loaned Executives (LEs), individuals “on loan” from, or sponsored by, area companies or organizations, are lending their time and talents to United Way during the 2011 campaign.
They assist staff and volunteers with establishing and running workplace campaigns, developing campaign strategies, facilitating volunteer trainings, and public speaking.
Burgess is sponsored by United Way of Greater Cincinnati and the University of Cincinnati.
In addition to expressing their commitment to community service, the LEs are able to develop professionally by gaining experience in areas like public relations, marketing, management, customer service, and strategic planning.
United Way recruits people and organizations who bring the passion, expertise and resources needed to get things done.
By working as an LE during United Way’s 2011 campaign, community members like Burgess are helping United Way advance the common good by creating opportunities for a better life for all.
“I wasn’t sure how I was connected to United Way, but was adopted, and I found out that my parents used Catholic Social Services,” says Burgess. “Learning that has helped me realize how United Way has affected my life, and how it affects all facets of life.”
