Paige Spencer, recent Amelia High School graduate, will be attending Tennessee Tech University, Cookeville, Tn., to further her education and to continue playing soccer.
She has decided she will be a nursing major.
“I picked Tennessee Tech because they contacted me first and they have a really awesome nursing program,” she said.
At Amelia High, she was an outstanding soccer player where she was a Southern Buckeye Conference American Division all-star and that division’s Player of the Year for her senior season. She was a scholar-athletic award winner and received from her teammates the honor of being chosen as the Barons’ best offensive player.
In addition to her sports career she was a member of the student council and the National Honor Society.
Recalling highlights of her prep sports career, she said, “My sister, Megan, coached me some during high schooI. . . I was the team’s leading scorer my junior year.”
“My parents (Rick and Tammy Spencer) supported me in everything and anything I did,” said Paige of important people in her life’s succcess. “My sisters really encouraged me and were supportive of me all the time.
