Hunter Voshell stands with CNE head baseball coach Mike Kirk, left, and his parents Rhonda and Paul Voshell, right, shortly after his college letter-of-intent signing.
Hunter Voshell has signed a letter-of-intent to further his education and his baseball career at Transylvania University, Lexington, Ky.

He is undecided as to what his major course of study will be, but it will be either accounting or finance.

Voshell played baseball throughout his prep career at Northeastern lettering all four years. He also lettered all three years he played basketball at CNE. He was a Southern Buckeye Conference American Division all-star on the diamond.

“The coaches were great at Transylvania. I like the school a lot,” he said in explaining why he chose Transylvania.

In addition to sports at Northeastern, he was a member of the yearbook “The Rocket” staff, the chorus, and the prom committee.

Several athletic moments he considers as the most memorable highlights of his prep days.

“We beat New Richmond my junior year to win the league baseball championship for the first time in 10 years,” he said. “I had a walk off RBI (run batted in) against Amelia this year. . . I always enjoyed beating Western Brown in anything.”

A most appreciative son thanked his “mom and dad (Paul and Rhonda Voshell). They made me the person who I am. They pushed me to be my best in everything. . . (brother) Trace was my biggest influence. . . (CNE head baseball) coach (Mike) Kirk was one of the best coaches I’ve ever had.”
