Justin Heitmeyer soloed in a single-engine aircraft on March 25. This was Heitmeyer’s first flight as a student pilot without his instructor in the aircraft.

Heitmeyer is enrolled in the Aviation Technology: Professional Pilot Program at the University of Cincinnati. The laboratory portion of the Professional Pilot Program is taught at the Clermont County Airport.

Heitmeyer is the son of Michael Heitmeyer of Bethel. When he completes the two-year program through the University of Cincinnati, he will have earned an Associate of Applied Science degree and a Commercial pilot certificate.
