Daugherty to cheer at Lake Erie College
This September when Heather Daugherty puts on her cheerleading uniform it will not be the familiar colors of red and gray of Bethel-Tate she has known all her life, but the colors for the Lake Erie College Storm Cheerleaders.
Daugherty was accepted to Lake Erie College earlier this year and a few months ago the cheerleading coach contacted her and asked her to “try out” for the squad.
Bright and early on Sunday, April 17 Daugherty, along with her mother Amy and grandmother Terri, made the long ride to Painesville, Ohio to compete for a spot on the squad to cheer for Lake Erie College.
Heather learned the dance routine and a few cheers and then into competition she went.
She cheered a familiar cheer to win the favor of the judges first and possibly to put her more at ease, and then it was on to the new cheers and the dance routine. At the end of the afternoon, she emerged one of the newest members of the Lake Erie Storm cheerleader squad.
