Felicity, Clermont Northeastern, and Glen Este fastpitch softball lead their leagues

Felicity and Clermont Northeastern increased their lead in their respective divisions of the Southern Buckeye Conference fastpitch softball races and Glen Este is doing the same in the Fort Ancient Valley Conference East Division.

April 30

Felicity 1 Williamsburg 0

In a classic Clermont County confrontation, Felicity skimmed by Williamsburg 1-0 in an incredible pitcher’s duel between two of the county’s best. The Cardinals’ sophomore ace Montana Wear allowed just two hits and struck out nine and the Wildcats’ senior ace Rachel Meisberger gave up just one hits and struck out four. The game’s run was scored in the bottom of the fifth inning when MacKenzie Dunaway, who had walked, was driven on the Cards’ only hit, a double by Kelsey Mitchell. This game was of the Southern Buckeye Conference National Division variety.

This thriller and heartbreaker was between next door neighbors and members of the Southern Buckeye Conference American Division

Clermont Northeastern 9 Northwest Scioto 0

The Rockets easily won this inner-state rout. Emily Anderson struck out 14 of the Tartans and she helped herself by hitting safely three times, scoring twice, and had a pair of runs batted in (RBI), Osborn had four hits and three RBI, Miller had two hits and touched the plate three times, and Hill had three base raps and two RBI.

Clermont Northeastern 2 Portsmouth West 0

It was tougher this time, but Anderson beat another team from southeastern Ohio fanning 12 opponents this time. Miller hit safely three and Hill twice versus the Senators.

New Richmond 11 Anderson 1 (five innings)

The Lions annihilated their next door neighbors in a non-league game. Schmidt whiffed eight of the Redskins and hit a home run to aid her own cause. Brittain and Long added a couple of base knocks apiece for the winners.

New Richmond 6 St. Ursula 4

The Red and Black set back another Hamilton County foe behind the hurling of Smith. She and Davis and Martin each had a couple of hits against the Bulldogs in this non-conference clash.

Felicity 4 West Carrollton 1

In this Western Brown Invitational opener, the Cardinals sunk the Pirates behind the 11 strikeout performance of Montana Wear. J White supported her hurler at the plate with two safeties.

Bethel-Tate 5 Wilmington 4

The Tigers unwinded the Hurricanes in this game of the Western Brown Invitational. Kenneda was the winner on the mound. Hensley lashed out two triples to spearhead the winning offense in this non-league victory.

Felicity 8 Bethel-Tate 4

Wear’s 16 strikeouts enable the Red and White to outlast the Red and Gray in the championship encounter of the Western Brown Invitational. Leading the Cards’ attack was Lucas with three hits and two RBI, Wear and Tatman with two base knocks, and A White with two RBI. The Tigers batting was powered by Hensley and Atkins with two hits each and Colwell with two RBI.

Glen Este 1 Milford 0

In this return engagement between the coaches Gregory, the Trojans eked out the win in the Fort Ancient Valley Conference East Division. Benhase struck out 12 E-Gals and Alley struck out eight of the Purple People. Steinmetz’s three base raps topped the GE offense.

Felicity 1 St. Ursula 0

Wear wore down the Bulldogs by whiffing 15 of them. J White had the game’s only RBI due to her two hits in this non-league contest.

Clermont Northeastern 2 Goshen 0

Anderson whitewashed the Warriors with the assistance of her nine strikeouts in the Southern Buckeye American meeting. Hill had two hits and a like number of RBI and Miller added two hits. The Red and Gray’s Adams led all hitters with heer three safeties.

Bethel-Tate 7 New Richmond 0

In this American Division Southern Buckeye battle, Kenneda earned the victory on the hill and proved most of the Tigers’ offense herself with two hits including a home run and batted in three teammates.

May 4

Amelia 11 New Richmond 0 (five innings)

Junior Shelby Engle struck out eight to help shut out the Tigers in this Southern Buckeye American game. At bat she had three hits and drove in two runs, Megan Mentzel had two hits and three RBI, Jennae Chappell had two hits and two RBI, and Jodi Motley two base raps.
Clermont Northeastern 10 Bethel-Tate 0 (five innings)

Sophomore Emily Anderson keeps winning on the mound for the Rockets. She fired a perfect game throughout its duration. She got three hits and four RBI to assist herself, Chelsae Osborn had three RBI, and McKena Miller and Cydney Hill each hit safely twice in this Southern Buckeye American tilt.

Western Brown 6 Goshen 0

In this Southern Buckeye Conference American Division undoing the Warriors were whitewashed by Western.

May 5

Glen Este 4 Loveland 0

Winning pitcher Kelley Benhase fanned 10 Tigers to register this win for the leaders of the Fort Ancient Valley Conference East Division.

Williamsburg 3 Blanchester 0

In this bi-annual Southern Buckeye Conference National Division war of the Wildcats, Williamsburg won out again behind the 12 strikeout hurling of senior Rachel Meisberger. She hit a home run and drove in two mates to provide the major difference in favor of her own cause.

Felicity 12 Batavia 0 (six innings)

Junior right hander Montana Wear whiffed 15 Bulldogs and hit a home run and plated five teammates for the Cardinals in this Southern Buckeye National knockout. Shelby Lucas added two base knocks and Heather Tatman two RBI for the Red and White.

Milford 4 Little Miami 1

Sarah Alley’s two hits at the plate and nine strikeouts on the mound was all the E-Gals needed to defeat the Panthers in this East Division game of the Fort Ancient Valley. Alison Moore contributed two more hits to the Clermont countians’ cause.

Milford 4 Little Miami 1

In an identical final result, Alley whiffed 10 of the Green and Yellow this time. She and Moore both hit safely twice.

Clermont Northeastern 5 Amelia 0

The Rockets further secured their lead in the Southern Buckeye Conference American Division with this win. Emily Anderson fanned 11 Barons. The Blue and White’s Shelby Engle struck out 11 of the Blue and Gold in a losing effort. Raelyn Reynolds had two hits and two RBI for Northeastern and Cydney Hill hit in the other three CNE runs. Nikki Martin’s two base raps paced the Amelia offensive efforts.

New Richmond 6 Western Brown 4

The Lions outlasted the Broncos this American Division Southern Buckeye thriller. Kathryn Curtis tossed the win from the mound supported by the two hits provided by Sarah Abellanida.
