Eagles’ performance in Coaches’ Classic paced by the victories of Robinson, Frank, and Matulis

Milford’s boys and girls varsity swimming and diving teams have been very active of late competing very successfully in recent meets.

Beau Robinson’s victory in the 100-yard butterfly in the Southwest District Coaches Association Classic was Milford’s outstanding highlight of this very prestigious event.

Boys results

The male Eagles were very impressive placing fifth among the 46 competing squads that managed to score points in this showdown of the area’s best swimming programs.

Milford amassed a very impressive 197 points. Perennial state champion, the St. Xavier Bombers were the not surprisingly victorious with 665 points. Glen Este also scored. The Trojans made two points.

Beau Robinson of Milford, a junior, was a twin winner in this very prestigious event. He was titlist of the 100-yard individual medley in 54.17 seconds and the 100 butterfly in 50.53.

Another pair of Eagles were individual champions, too. Alex Frank, a junior, won the 50 backstroke in 26.78. Dave Matulis, a junior, finished first in the 50 breaststroke in 26.78.

Girls results

Milford was 32nd among the 46 teams that scored. The Red and White made a total of 16 points.

The Ursuline

Academy Lions were the championettes with 420.

Southwest Ohio

Diving Classic

Margaret Craycraft, the Princeton University committed Milford senior, was third among her many competitors. She accumulated 406.80 personal points for the event.

As a team, the E-Gals scored 16 points; Mason’s Comets were the winners with 51 points.

Lawrenceburg

The Eagles successfully hosted the lads and lasses from Hoosierland.

Robinson was a winner in four events, Frank triumphed three times, and Connor Litmer, a senior, Matulis, Thomas Prus, a junior, and Alex Hahn, a freshman, each won twice.

Kelsey Meranda, a sophomore, and Haley Kennedy, a freshman, each won thrice, and Jessie Sinkula, a senior, Emma Frye, a senior, Julia Prus, a junior, and Carolyn Storch, a freshman, were doubly triumphant.

The Red and White boys continued their winning ways versus its next-door neighbor and Fort Ancient Valley Conference East Division arch-rival Tigers in the home water.

Matulis and Robinson were winners in all four of the events in which they competed. Litmer was a winner in three, and Frank, Prus, Clark McCloud, a senior, and Cade Williams, a sophomore, in a pair.

Margaret Craycraft, a senior who received signed a college letter-of-intent to further her education and diving career at Princeton (N. J.) University, continues to defeat all of her worthy opponents.

Butler Invitational

Butler High School in Vandalia, Ohio, hosted its annual invitational.

Robinson was a four-event champion, Matulis, Litmer, and Williams were three-event champions and Frank and Prus were each victorious in two events.

Anderson

The Redskins went home happy after visiting the waters of Milford and Clermont County in this East Division dual of the Fort Ancient Valley Conference.

Boys results

Frank triumphed in two events for the Clermont countians.

Kennedy was a two-event victor for the Red and White and Craycraft maintained her command of the diving competition.

Robinson and Wade won four events individually or as members of triumphant relays. Litmer and Prus were winners of three events and Frank and Matulis wonout of two of their races.

Among the girls, three event winners were Storch and Kennedy and double victors were Prus and Meranda.
