GE freshman Leslie Campbell fires impressive 279 game

Leslie Campbell, Glen Este freshman, bowled a sensational 279 at Cherry Grove Lanes against Loveland.
Varsity bowling season is off to a very impressive beginning for the West Clermont girls teams. Glen Este is undefeated in all three of its outings and Amelia is unbeaten in both of its efforts. Milford has earned credit for a victory, too.

Glen Este has shown outstanding work especially led by Leslie Campbell, a freshman, who bowled a very impressive 279 in a 427 two-game total in the Trojans’ 2315-2065 win over Loveland’s Tigers.

The Purple and White downed the Tigers in their second meeting that was considerably closer 2194-2062. Hannah Ruehlman led the GE scoring with a 352.

In a 2451-2063 verdict over Walnut Hills’ Eagles, Campbell and Hannah Ruehlman, a senior, shared top total honors by both rolling 375.

All of these games were in the Fort Ancient Valley Conference.

Amelia initiated its campaign with 1832-1705-1217 triumphs over Summit Country Day’s Silver Knights and Clark Montessori’s Cougars, respectively. Junior Shelby Engle knocked down 290 to pace the Barons’ scoring.

Kings’ Knights were also crushed by the Blue and White 1994-1810. Amelia’s best score belonged to junior Elaina Simons who tallied a 360.

Both battles were non-conference. Amelia, being a member of the Southern Buckeye Conference, is one of just two schools in that league (along with Goshen) to have a bowling team.

Milford began its season with a 1922-1828 win over Walnut Hills. Senior Kara Bough knocked down 322 pins to pace the E-Gals’ scoring.

The enemy Eagles came back to avenge themselves over the Red and White 1990-1843. Bough again led the Milford totals with a 312.

Wilmington walloped Milford 2331-1870. As usual, Bough was the pacesetter with a two-game total tally of 358.

In a much closer contested confrontation, the Clermont countians were skimmed by the Clinton countians 2051-2041. Junior Heather Higgins’ 350 was the top two-game total for the Red and White.

Each of Milford’s games was opposite teams of the Fort Ancient Valley Conference.
