On patrol with Sergeant Sellers
“There’s no such thing as a typical day when you’re in law enforcement,” said Clermont County Sheriff’s Office Sergeant Jeff Sellars. The 17-year veteran of the force is one of 35 deputies assigned to work 12 hour shifts patrolling Clermont County roadways. “One minute there’s a crash, then you could be called to serve a warrant, take part in a drug bust, or check an overloaded truck, like I’m about to do.”

A. Monroe Zeigler, 69, of Batavia died Friday, Nov. 5, 2010. Monroe taught Industrial Arts at Amelia High school for three years and for 29 years at Bethel Tate High School. After retirement, he worked for Sears at Eastgate Mall for 10 years. He was active for 19 years as a member of AA and a former member of the Knights Of Columbus. He was a lifelong carpenter, woodworker, antique furniture restorer, oil lamp collector, and enjoyed his koi pond.
Timothy Metze, 36
Timothy John Metze, 36, of Anderson Township, died Saturday, Nov. 13, 2010 at Jewish Hospital of Kenwood. He was a pharmaceutical researcher.
William Shipman, 75
William Allen Shipman, 75, of Bethel died Monday, Nov. 8, 2010. He is survived by his wife Mary Shipman (nee Baucom), sons Tony (Teresa) Pendergrass, and Teddy Pendergrass, grandchildren Kevin, Georgia Goins, and Justin Pendergrass, and great grandchildren Jackson, and Joanne Sexson.
Melva Upchurch, 74
Melva Upchurch, 74, died Thursday, Nov. 4, 2010. She is survived by her husband Donald Upchurch, children Barbara (Phil), Eddy, and Donald K. Upchurch, three grandchildren.
Judith Miller, 66
Judith I. Miller (nee Stephens), 66, of Milford died Thursday, Nov. 11, 2010. She is survived by her children Kim Miller, of California, and Kurt (Ann) Miller, of Union Township.
Bryce Masters, 86
Bryce Milton Masters, 86 died Thursday, Nov. 11, 2010. He served in the armed forces. Funeral services 10 a.m. Monday, Nov. 15, 2010 at Mt. Moriah United Methodist Church.
Margery Traber, 101
Margery Beatrice Traber (nee Perry), 101, of Goshen died Tuesday, Nov. 16, 2010. She was born Sept. 6, 1909. She is survived by her nephews Virgil Perry, of Lewisburg, George (Esther) Perry, of Xenia, and James (Joetta) Perry, of West Milton.
Anna Tucker, 89
Anna Elizabeth Tucker, 89, of Milford died Tuesday, Nov. 9, 2010 in Mt. Orab. She was a homemaker. Tucker was preceded in death by her brothers and sisters.
