A. Monroe Zeigler, 69, of Batavia died Friday, Nov. 5, 2010.

Monroe taught Industrial Arts at Amelia High school for three years and for 29 years at Bethel Tate High School. After retirement, he worked for Sears at Eastgate Mall for 10 years. He was active for 19 years as a member of AA and a former member of the Knights Of Columbus. He was a lifelong carpenter, woodworker, antique furniture restorer, oil lamp collector, and enjoyed his koi pond.

Zeigler was preceded in death by his sister Barbara Vice.

He is survived by his wife Martha Jane Zeigler (nee Campbell), sons Shannon (Anne) Zeigler, Christopher (Bridget) Zeigler, and Nathan (Amanda) Zeigler, grandchildren Pierce, Blake, Rowan, Meredith, and Arden Zeigler, siblings Shirley Worthington, and John Zeigler, and other relatives.

Visitation 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. Monday, Nov. 8, 2010 at at Moore’s Funeral Home, Batavia. Funeral services 11 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 9, 2010 at the funeral home. Interment Batavia Union Cemetery.
