The sun will come out tomorrow for a group of C.N.E students who will be performing in the Middle School production of Annie Jr. on Nov. 19 and 20 at Clermont College Krueger Auditorium.

This is the first year that the C.N.E. Drama Department will have a Middle School musical.

The past few years a small group of students have been given the opportunity to perform in the high school musicals, but this year the 32 member cast is comprised of mainly 6th-8th graders.

Abby Thompson and Brandon Dalton will be performing in CNE Middle School
"I am excited to see all of the talent these middle school students are bringing to this musical and to the drama program at CNE. It's great that our program has reached the point where we can produce more than one musical a year, and give students of all ages a chance to perform," said Sarah Burdsall, C.N.E. Choir Director and Assistant Drama Director.

"Annie Jr. is awesome, everybody is working really hard and the performance is coming together," Seventh grader Bailey Wood, student director for the musical said.

"We have had our troubles but we fixed them and everything is going to be great," Bailey said.

This is not Bailey's first experience with being involved with musicals at C.N.E., she was in the Music Man two years ago.

This is the first drama production for seventh grader Ella Varley. Ella said she was excited to get the part of the orphan "Tessie." "I got the part that I really wanted and I get to sing You're Never Fully Dressed Without a Smile. The next couple of weeks will be busy for the cast and crew as they practice daily for the upcoming performances."

Eighth grader Brandon Dalton said, "It has been a fun experience, all of the young talent is phenomenal."

The Drama Department anticipates packed crowds for each of three performances. The performances will take place at UC Clermont College Krueger Auditorium at 7 p.m. Friday Nov. 19 and 2 and 7 p.m. Saturday Nov. 20.
