Clermont Municipal Court Adult Probation Department receives statewide recognition

The Clermont County Municipal Court Adult Probation Department is the recipient of the 2010 Clifford Skeen Award. Clermont County Municipal Court Judge James Shriver and Chief Probation Officer Joe Ellison accepted the award on Sept. 30, presented during the annual Ohio Justice Alliance for Community Corrections Conference in Columbus, Ohio.

Craycraft will study, dive at Princeton

Margaret Craycraft, daughter of Ken and Sue Craycraft, has signed a letter-of-intent to further her education and athletic career at Princeton University, Princeton, N. J. The Milford High School senior chose Princeton because “it’s a great school. It had what I was looking for in its visual arts department and I liked the members of the faculty and the coaches that I met.”

Kelley Benhase will play softball at NKU

Kelley Benhase has recently signed a college letter-of-intent to continue her studies and athletic career at Northern Kentucky University. The daughter of David and Denise Benhase of Withamsville, Kelley will major in education. She wants to become a teacher and a softball coach.

SBC American Division all-stars announced

The head coaches of the Southern Buckeye Conference American Division have chosen their all-star teams for the 2010-11 autumn season. The members of the boys and girls cross country teams and the boys golf team all earned their berths on the stellar squads due to their individual performances in the conference championships meets. Included with each name is the grade in which the individual is in high school.

Amelia, Clermont Northeastern, Goshen win youth football league regular-season championships

The Clermont County Youth Football League regular-season is finished. Amelia won three league championships and Clermont Norheastern and Goshen each captured a title. Following are the final standings of each respective age group league.

UC Clermont volleyball qualifies for National Championship Tournament

The University of Cincinnati Clermont College Cougars volleyball team completed their usual banner year winning the Ohio Collegiate Athletic Conference Tournament (OCAC) after tying for the regular season crown. The spectacular tournament performance earned the Red and Black their fifth consecutive berth to the United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA) National Championship Tournament.

Brian Joseph Grant, 44, died Saturday, Nov. 20, 2010. Visitation 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, Nov. 26, 2010 at E.C. Nurre Funeral Home, Amelia.

William Sons, 80

William Edward Sons, 80, of Bethel died Friday, Nov. 19, 2010. He was preceded in death by four brothers and two sisters.

Lori Morris, 41

Lori Ellen Morris, 41, of Milford died Saturday, Nov. 13, 2010 in Miami Township. She was a homemaker.
