Timothy and Krystle Hoskins have each pleaded guilty in the death of Krystle Hoskins’ 2-year-old son Terry Wells.

Timothy Hoskins submitted a written plea of guilty of murder on Wednesday, Sept. 22. Hoskins was indicted on charges of murder, tampering with evidence, and five counts of endangering children. Clermont County Prosecutor Don White said his office was glad to have Hoskins accept the plea deal.

“It’s what we wanted from the beginning,” White said. “Even though we had strong evidence for the abuse you never know how things will turn out with a jury.”

A pregnant Krystle Hoskins enters the court room to enter her plea of guilty Tuesday morning.
The first degree felony murder charge comes with an automatic sentence of 15 years to life in prison and with prior drug trafficking offenses Hoskins will not be eligible for parole. White also said there were multiple complaints of Hoskins abusing children when he lived in Kentucky, but no charges were filed.

His sentencing is scheduled for Friday, Oct. 8.

The pregnant Krystle Hoskins appeared before Judge William Walker Tuesday, Sept. 28 to enter a plea of guilty of involuntary manslaughter and tampering with evidence. A charge of endangering children was dropped in exchange for the plea.

Hoskins will be back in court Oct. 29 when she will be sentenced to between three and 10 years for manslaughter and one to five years for tampering with evidence. She could be fined up to $30,000 and will be under community control for five years following her release.

Krystle Hoskins' manslaughter charged is based on the fact that she allowed her son to be choked by Timothy Hoskins. According to the facts presented in court, on June 1 Timothy Hoskins choked Terry Wells to death in their apartment in Bethel. Timothy and Krystle Hoskins then moved Wells outside of their apartment and initially lied to paramedics and investigators about where they found the injured 2-year-old and how he received his injuries. The autopsy report also showed bruises of varying ages on Wells.

Both Timothy and Krystle Hoskins remain incarcerated at the Clermont County Jail while they await sentencing.
