The Village of Bethel will begin its annual street resurfacing in the coming weeks.

The village council worked with the Burke Trust to secure funding for the resurfacing of the Grant Memorial parking lot and the drive in Burke Park. The trust contributed $31,000 to the project. Public works committee chair Tim Cherry said council has requested that the Grant Memorial and Burke Trust paving be completed by Down Home Christmas on Saturday, Dec. 4.

Bethel will also be working on repairs to curbs over the next two weeks. At that time the village will pour the required concrete base for a slide in Burke Park. The village has been working on repairs and updates to various pieces of playground equipment in the park through out the summer. The repairs were deemed necessary to meet liability insurance requirements.
