Amelia, New Richmond, and Batavia began their respective Clermont County high school varsity boys soccer seasons with victories. The Barons began with a hard-fought 6-3 victory over arch-rival Glen Este in an inner-county, non-conference game.

The Second Annual Bethel 10K Run and 5K Walk began and ended at Burke Park. The course wound around and through the Greater Bethel area.

The Milford and Glen Este varsity girls golf teams have both earned victories in the beginning portion of the varsity autumn season. The Eagles and the Trojans, members of the Fort Ancienit Valley Conference Buckeye Division, are Clermont County’s only teams in this sport. The Fairfield Invirtational began the 2010 high school girls varsity golf season for Clermont County’s teams.

Clermont Northeastern won its third consecutive game, Milford outlasted Amelia, Williamsburg amassed a lot of points in its victory, and Bethel-Tate surprised Goshen to highlight Clermont County high school varsity football action last Friday night. Clermont Northeastern (3-0 overall) got by a determined Batavia (0-3 overall) squad 14-0.

Dorothy Mary Luken, 88, of Milford died Thursday, Sept. 2, 2010 in Madeira. he was certified to teach religious education and taught catechism at St. Anthony’s in Madisonville.

Lucille Ruble-Clift, 83, of Mt. Orab died Tuesday, Aug. 31, 2010 in Cincinnati. Funeral services were held Friday, Sept. 3.

Beatrice N. Belew, 96, of Milford died Tuesday, Aug. 31, 2010. She was a homemaker. Funeral services were Friday, Sept. 3.

Ross Alford Blackburn, 90, of Neville died Wednesday, Sept. 1, 2010 at Mt. Washington Care Center, Anderson. He was a member of the Laurel Methodist Church.

ohn H. Newman, 73, of Amelia died Thursday, Sept. 2, 2010. He was preceded in death by his wife Betty Newman.

Kathleen Marie Bradley, 54, of Milford, died Friday, Sept. 3, 2010 in Anderson Township. She was a homemaker. Funeral services were held Tuesday, Sept. 7.
