Six of Clermont’s prep varsity girls soccer teams are kicking around their competition

Most of Clermont County’s high school varsity girls soccer teams are experiencing a good number of victories.

Clermont Northeastern

The Rockets began the campaign with a 5-1 win over arch-rival and next-door neighbor Goshen. In this Southern Buckeye Conference American Division contest, the winners goals were scored by Maggie Sullivan and Lindsey Berning with two each and Kyle Sumner who added the other.

The Blue and Gold convincingly clobbered North Adam's Green Devils 9-0 in non-conference competition. Kyle Sumner and Maggie Sullivan were on fire for CNE as they netted five and four goals, respectively. Goalkeeper Alexis Schmidt stopped all four of the Adams countians' shots toward the net.

Glen Este

The Trojans trampled Northwest 8-2 in a non-division game of the Fort Ancient Valley Conference. Freshman striker Hannah Dufresne made two goals for GE and Maria Lavatori, J. J. Pullens, Miranda Melton, Madi Velten, Corti Pullens, and Emily Cummings scored one goal apiece.

The next victory for the Purple and White was over arch-rival Amelia 4-1 in a non-conference confrontation. Dufresne, Velten, Corti Pullens, and Cassie Howell made the points for GE. Katie Brown accounted for the Barons' point.

The Glen Este winning streak was barely stopped by Withrow's Tigers 3-2 in a non-league battle.


The E-Gals whitewashed the Lakota East Thunderhawks 3-0 in a non-league showdown. Netting the points for the Clermont countians were Kayla Byrnside, Kiersten Johnson, and Morgan Wolcott. Kyle Gullage, senior goalkeeper, made five saves to preserve the shut out.

Sycamore was also sunk by Milford 2-1. Accounting for the points made by the Red and White were Kiersten Johnson and Lindsay Bartsch.


The Tigers trampled Purcell Marian 8-0 in a non-conference tilt. Alyssa Weiss led the Red and Gray by making two goals, Taylor Atkins, Brooke Kenneda, Sheyenne Sebastian, Blake Woodward, Hayley Rose, and Whiitney Schuster added the other tallies. Kyla Weber and Weiss shared duties in the goal to register the shut out.

New Richmond

The Lions edged Western Brown 2-1 in an American Division duel of the Southern Buckeye Conference. Scoring for the Clermont countians were Bailey Workman and Emily Barcheski.


The Barons broke even with Bethel-Tate 1-1. Katie Brown booted in the point for the Blue and White and Ashley Lanigan did the same for the Red and Gray in this Southern Buckeye Conference American Division game.

The Barons were blanked by Madeira 6-0 as Amelia made just two shots at the Mustangs' goal in this non-league drubbing.


The Bulldogs were climbed all over by Summit Country Day's Silver Knighits 7-1. Scoring for the Green and White in this non-league game was Kylie Richardson.


The Warriors lost in non-conference play to Fayetteville's Rockets 6-1.
