Amelia, New Richmond, and Batavia began their respective Clermont County high school varsity boys soccer seasons with victories.
The Barons began with a hard-fought 6-3 victory over arch-rival Glen Este in an inner-county, non-conference game. Netting the goals for the winners were Jason Drennan and Anthony Clark with two each and Cody Sprague and Josh Drennan who both added one goal apiece. The Trojans’ goals were tallied by Michael Teegarden, Matt Grau, and Tyler Curtice.
The Lions dropped Deer Park's Wildcats 4-1 in a non-conference clash. Sam Anderson, Zak Ritter, Tyler Klein, and Colton Farmer registered the goals for the Red and Black.
The Western Brown Broncos felt the New Richmond wrath being whitewashed 4-0 in a Southern Buckeye Conference American Division fray. Ritter kicked in three of the triumphants' points and Casey Meyer booted in the other goal. Scott Heater blocked 11 of the Brown and Gold's scoring attempts.
The Bulldogs put down Purcell Marian's Cavaliers 2-1 in a non-league battle. Drew Goodspeed and Ian Malott accounted for the Green and White's goals.
Batavia was shut out by Mariemont's Warriors in a non-conference encounter 5-0. The Bulldogs made just one shot at the winners' goal.
Middletown Fenwick's Falcons also mastered the Batavians 4-1. McClain Shepard made the goal for the Clermont countians.
The Rockets tied Goshen 2-2 in an American Division game of the Southern Buckeye Conference. Noah Slusher and Greg Warman scored the points for Northeastern. Taylor Jones put in both points for the Warriors.
The Eagles broke even with the Lakota East Thunderhawks 1-1 in a non-league showdown. The Clermont countians' goal was made by Anders Michelson.
Oak Hills' Highlanders overcame the Red and White 2-0. Milford made eight unsuccessful shots at the enemy's goal.
The Trojans were whitewashed by Harrison's Wildcats 2-0 in a game of the Buckeye Division of the Fort Ancient Valley Conference. The Purple and White was stopped 10 times by the their adversaries in scoring attempts made at the Butler countians' goal.
The Warriors were nipped by Fayetteville's Rockets 2-1 in a non-league contest. Taylor Jones netted the point for the Red and Gray.
