Clermont Crew rowing team enjoys a very successful season nationally and locally
The Clermont Crew boys and girls rowers enjoyed what can only be described as a successful season. This success continues the achievements and laurels the program has enjoyed throughout its existence. At the United States Midwest Juniors Championship, a total of one dozen of the Clermont County squad’s boats placed in the finals and two of these boats were successful enough to advance to the most prestigious United States Juniors National Championships.
Clermont recorder now offering E-recordings
The Clermont County Recorder’s Office is now accepting electronically filed documents (e-recordings). The fees to record documents with the Recorder’s Office are the same for both e-filed and those brought into the office.
Butterfly counters needed by the Clermont parks
Can you tell the difference between a swallowtail and a Pearl Crescent butterfly? You will be able to, if you become a citizen scientist with the Clermont County Park District. Volunteers are needed to take part in the weekly butterfly count at the Chilo Lock #34 Park in Franklin Township.
Archie Jones, 76
Archie L. Jones, 76, of Milford and Goshen Township, died Sunday, July 18, 2010 in Loveland. He was a maintainer for the Continental Can Company. Funeral services were held Wednesday, July 21.
Melvin Green, 82
Melvin H. Green, 82, of Russellville, died Wednesday, July 14. He was employed by Milacron for more than 24 years and was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Arnheim.
Pearly Dragoo, 86
Pearly Mary Dragoo, 86, of Union Township, died Tuesday, July 13. She was a factor worker for an ice cream cone manufacturing company. Funeral services were held Friday, July 16.
Mildred Vorbeck, 86
Mildred “Millie” Vorbeck, 86, of Lafayette, died Tuesday, July 13, 2010 in Lafayette, Indiana. Vorbeck and her husband, Joe, lived in Batavia for 11 years where she is remembered as a volunteer at the Humane Society and as President of the Heatherstone Condominium Association.
Virginia Hancock, 91
Virginia R. Hancock, 91, of Bethel, died Monday, July 12. Funeral services were held Thursday, July 15, 2010 at Tate Township Cemetery.
Susan Colthar, 81
Susan Jackson Colthar, 81, of Milford died Saturday, July 17, 2010 in Milford. She was a medical transcriptionist a University Hospital. Funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family.
David Tuerck, 42
David Edward Tuerck, 42, formerly of Goshen, died Thursday, July 15. Funeral services were held Friday, July 16, 2010 at the convenience of the family.
