First Baptist of Amelia holds veterans memorial

The First Baptist of Amelia held its second annual Veterans Memorial Day Sunday, May 30.

All veterans present were honored with recognition for their service and a special recognition was given for all veterans past and present.

Willard Thomas was honored this year as the oldest veteran of our church.

Thomas served in the navy from 1942 to 1945 in places like Casablanca and many other ports where he was needed in WWII.

Mr. Thomas' family and friends were present to support him on his day of honor. Thanks to all the veterans for their service and for keeping The United States of America free for all of us.
