Chet Hinton, 59, of Liberty Township, Adams County, died Wednesday, June 9, 2010 at Adams County Regional Medical Center in Seaman. He was born April 28, 1951, in Maysville, Ky.

He served in the Army during Vietnam and was a former grocery merchandising manager for Prather’s I.G.A. in West Union. He was also a former employee of Brewer Cote Company in Newton, and a former security guard at the D.P. and L. Stuart Station in Manchester.

Hinton was preceded in death by his parents Charles and Dorothy Hinton.

He is survived by his wife Judy Hinton (nee. Spence), of Liberty Township, sons Sam (Elaine) Hinton, of Liberty Township, and Jason (Brenda) Hinton, of Batavia, siblings Charles Hinton, of Flemingsburg, Ky., Glenda Blanchard, of Morgantown, N.C., Bonnie Tomlin, of Bentonville, Judy Wilson of West Union and Ruth Hamilton, of West Union, and several nephews and nieces.

Funeral services were held Sunday, June 13, 2010 at Lafferty Funeral Home in West Union with a military service performed by the Adams County Honor Guard. Interment Kirker Cemetery, Liberty Township.
