Bethel bank robbed on Monday
The Bethel Police Department is working with the FBI to investigate the robbery at the Key Bank on East Plane Street.
Clermont County well-represented by its gridiron greats on winning East squad in annual all-star classic
Seven Clermont County high school football stars competed in the 35th Annual Ron Woyan Southwest Ohio Football Coaches Association East-West All-Star Football Game. The East squad won the confrontation for the second consecutive year. The game took place at Kings High School.
Bethel-Tate is the champion of the Southern Buckeye American Division boys tennis race
The Bethel-Tate Tigers varsity boys tennis squad captured the championship of the Southern Buckeye Conference’s American Division (SBC-A). The Red and Gray finished 11-1 in the conference and 14-3 overall. “Having five seniors on the team, all of them three and four year experienced players, has been the biggest factor in our success. We had a very experienced team,” said Tim West, head coach of the Southern Buckeye American champions.
Batavia wins the Southern Buckeye National Division boys tennis championship
Batavia is the champion of the National Division of the Southern Buckeye Conference tennis race. The Bulldogs concluded their conference campaign with an 8-3 record. “Experience helped the team. They were a year older and had another year’s experience behind them and they worked hard during the off season. . . Sisodia and Moles worked hard on their own,” said Batavia head coach Jon Nau.
Todd Riedel of Amelia becomes the head of strength and conditioning at Wofford College
Todd Riedel, a 1997 graduate of Amelia High School, has been named the director of strength and conditioning at Wofford College, Spartanburg, S. C. “This has been my dream since high school,” said Riedel who was a Queen City Conference and all-city selection in football. He also earned varsity letters in wrestling and track and field.
Cards win SBC-N, Division IV sectional fastpitch softball championships
Felicity is the champion of the Southern Buckeye Conference National Division (SBC-N) fast pitch softball race. The Cardinals were 14-1 in the conference and finished the season at 20-2 overall. Damon Smith is the head coach of the very successful Red and White.
Clermont’s Cougars runner-up in USCAA National Championship Tournament
The University of Cincinnati Clermont College baseball team was runner-up in the United States Collegiate Athletic Conference (USCAA) National Championship Tournament that took place in Orchard Beach, Maine, at a facility named The Ballpark. The Clermont County college also won the Ohio Regional Campus Conference championship.
Audit of Goshen Township reveals several small errors
According to an audit released by the state, Goshen Township made several small accounting errors that resulted in three Goshen firefighters being over paid. The three firefighters were overpaid a total of $533 according to Auditor of the State Mary Taylor’s report between 2007 and 2008.
