New Richmond’s boys are runner-up in Division II district track and field showdown

New Richmond’s boys and Bethel-Tate’s girls were the pace setters for Clermont County squads in the Division II district track and field championships that took place at New Richmond High School. Clermont countians achieved seven individual crowns. They were earned by John Berwanger and Mike Maupin, New Richmond seniors, Kameron Wilson, Bethel-Tate senior, Jake Allen, Goshen junior, Marcus Casey, Goshen freshman, Aja Pettit, Goshen senior, and Autumn Schellenberger, Bethel-Tate senior.

Williamsburg is runner-up in boys and girls Division III track and field district meet

Williamsburg led Clermont County teams in all three divisions as the Wildcats earned second place in both the boys and girls competition of the Division III district track and field championships that took place at New Richmond High. Arica Stutz, Felicity freshman, won two events and Amy Brown, Williamsburg senior, was champion in one event.

Snappy Tomato Pizza has reopened under new management

Batavia’s Snappy Tomato Pizza has been reopened by a local entrepreneur. Virgil Knapke, a long-time Batavia area resident, recently completed a renovation of the popular pizza parlor, which had been closed by its previous owner more than two years ago.

Program offered to help reduce fall risk for seniors

The Clermont County General Health District Senior Safety Program, in collaboration with six Clermont County independent pharmacies, are participating in an innovative medication review project that will educate seniors about how certain medicines may increase their risk of falling.

Clermont Connections members clean banks of East Fork River

Clermont Connections, a young professionals group, spent a recent Saturday morning canoeing down the East Fork of the Little Miami in Batavia, Ohio. During this River Sweep, sponsored by the Soil and Water Conservation District of Clermont County, members of CCYP collected bottles, cans, tires, hubcaps, and other trash along the banks of the river as well as from the water and islands.

Now residents and other users have the unique ability to freely and conveniently access documentation, data and related information associated with real property.

Nickum obtains pilot certificate at Sporty’s

Ben Nickum earned his Recreational pilot certificate on April 12, 2010. To obtain his Recreational certificate, Ben passed an oral and a flight exam with a Federal Aviation Administration designated flight examiner. Ben, a resident of Batavia, completed his flight training at Sporty’s Academy at the Clermont County Airport.

Students rewarded for achievement

Students at Williamsburg Elementary have been reading books and taking Accelerated Reader quizzes throughout the school year. Six students became members of the Millionaire’s Club by reading over 1,000,000 words. These students were treated to a breakfast at Mama’s Grill and were transported in a limousine provided by A Touch of Class Limousine.

It is the recipient of the Center of Distinction award in recognition of its high patient satisfaction rates, exceptional healing results, and outstanding clinical outcomes over the past year.

New picnic shelter considered for Williamsburg Community Park

Williamsburg Council members are looking into the possibility generating additional revenue for the village of by adding an additional park shelter in the Williamsburg Community Park. The current shelter generates about $1,800 each year. According to council woman Terri Ousley, chairperson of the park committee, the village must turn down requests for the current shelter because it is always full. The revenue lost ranges anywhere from $500 to $600.
