Raymond “Papa Smurf” Niederhelman, 70, of Mt. Orab, died May 2, 2010 in Mt. Orab. He was born August 29, 1939 in Cincinnati.
Niederhelman was an avid motorcyclist.
He was preceded in death by his wife Melody Henderson and his parents Charles and Bobbie Grace Niederhelman (nee Anderson).
He is survived by his children Michael Ray (Mona) Niederhelman, of Felicity, Becky Rae (Dave) Forbes, of West Union, Gary Ray Niederhelman, of New Jersey, Kelley Rae (David) Raines, of Lynchburg, Raymond P. Niederhelman II of New Richmond, Veronica Rae (Don) Lunsford, of Sardinia, and Michael W. Windham, of Mt. Orab, granchildren Many Nicole, Michael Jr., Brandi, Anthony, Austin, Allison, Sydnie, Jordan, Derek, Dakota, Tailor, Aliyana, and Baylie, two great grandchildren, and his siblings Marie Lagoire, of Cincinnati, Robert Niederhelman, of Galopis, and Charles Niederhelman, of Indiana.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday, May 11, 2010 at Megie Funeral Home, 104 Spice Street, Mt. Orab, Ohio 45154. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, May 10 at Megie Funeral Home. Internment Mt. Orab Cemetery, Green Township.
