Grassy Run Rendezvous to be held April 24-25
| Come join The Grassy Run Historical Arts Committee and take part in the most unique historical festival in Cincinnati, The Grassy Run Heritage Rendezvous, held at the Community Park next to the East Fork of the Little Miami River. March of Babies to be held this weekend
Clermont County will be well represented this weekend during the annual March of Babies and March of Dimes walks. The 2010 Ambassador Family for the Clermont March of Babies Saturday, March 24 and the Greater Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky March of Dimes walk on Sunday, April 25 is the Rebhun family from Clermont County.
Bethel-Tate, Batavia are SBC tennis leaders
Milford began its varsity boys tennis season with a victory. Bethel-Tate continues to serve itself victories in the Southern Buckeye Conference with Batavia and New Richmond also creating a racket with some wins in the Southern Buckeye. The Eagles won out over Winton Woods’ Warriors 4-1 in the Fort Ancient Valley Conference Buckeye Division.
New Richmond and Northeastern ahead in fight for SBC-A baseball championship
Most of Clermont County’s varsity baseball squads are frequently emerging victorious while amassing large numbers of runs. New Richmond, Clermont Northeastern, and Williamsburg have endured no setbacks in recent action.
Glen Este, Northeastern, Felicity, and Amelia win all in recent fastpitch softball action
Clermont County’s high school varsity fast pitch softball teams are tearing up the area. Glen Este, Clermont Northeastern, Felicity, and Amelia are all undefeated in recent action and Milford, New Richmond and Williamsburg are also displaying winning records. Not one county team was below .500 in recent endeavors.
Bud Phillips resigns as commissioner of the SBC
George “Bud” Phillips has resigned as the commissioner of the Southern Buckeye Academic and Athletic Conference (SBC) after 20 years of service as its only commissioner. “I got started when Mr. (Jim) Fite of the Clermont County Office (of Education) indicated there would be a commissioner hired for the new league,” he said.
New Richmond boys, Milford girls county’s best at Glen Este’s Track Invitational
New Richmond’s boys and Milford’s girls paced the Clermont County teams in the annual Glen Este Track and Field Invitational. All of the county’s boys and girls varsity sqauds competed in this invite with the single exception of Goshen. Michelle Thomas, Glen Este junior, was a three-race champion.
Batavia Rotary Club recognizes its April Student of the Month
As part of its ongoing effort to recognize students in area high schools for their accomplishments, and who exemplify the Rotary motto of “Service Above Self,” the Batavia Rotary Club recognized Batavia High School student Alec Bowling as the club’s Student of the Month for April 2010. Bowling is being recognized for his service in the school community and leadership in the classroom.

T J William Jacobs Sr., 60, died Wednesday, April 14. Funeral services were held Wednesday, April 21, 2010 at E.C. Nurre Funeral Home in New Richmond.

Henry H. Shepherd, 70, died Thursday, April 15. Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Thursday, April 22, 2010 at Mt. Moriah Cemetery.
