Amelia’s Justin Andler leads city in homers and RBI; New Richmond off to good start

New Richmond, Batavia, Clermont Northeastern, and Goshen have begun their respective high school varsity baseball seasons flawlessly.

New Richmond

The Lions clobbered one of Greater Cincinnati’s legendary high school baseball programs, Western Hills, 13-1. Austin Warden was the winning pitcher. The hitting stars for the Clermont countians were Steven Binder with a home run and two runs batted in (RBI), Andy Case and Kevin Hamilton with two hits and two RBI each, and Michael Skaggs and Will Shoemaker with two hits each.

Taylor was the Red and Black's next victim, 9-3. Zack Ritter was the winner on the mound and assisted himself by getting two base raps.


The Bulldogs blasted Blanchester's Wildcats 13-1 in a five-inning Southern Buckeye Conference American Division contest. Joe Wahl struck out seven foes to earn the win on the mound. Austin Lenhardt, David Lenhardt, and Ryan Anstaett each had two hits for the victors.

Clermont Northeastern

The Rockets routed Western Brown 9-2 in the Southern Buckeye Conference American Division. Troy Miller smashed a homer, Seth Varner whiffed 15 Broncos and helped his own offense with two hits and two RBI, Ryan Krebs and Hunter Voshell both had three hits, Nick Averwater had two RBI, and Jamieson hit safely twice.


The Warriors overpowered Bethel-Tate 9-1 in the Southern Buckeye Conference American Division. Thomas Gibson was the winning pitcher. The winning offense was paced by Roenick Whitney's three hits, two doubles, and two RBI by Eric Coleman, and Josh Webb's two RBI. Tanner Wolffram had two base knocks for the Tigers.


The Barons bombed Blanchester 17-3 in six innings behind the pitching of Ben Hamrick. Justin Andler muscled out two home runs and batted in six teammates. P. J. Hartman had four hits, Dylan Newport three hits and three RBI, and Zac Hultz two hits and two RBI in this non-league contest..

The Blue and White lost 3-1 to Kings' Knights in the Fort Ancient Valley Conference Cardinal Division.

Glen Este

The Trojans were shut out by Moeller's Crusaders 6-0. Matt Jones led the GE offense with three base raps in this non-conference game.

In the Buckeye Division of the Fort Ancient Valley Conference, Loveland downed GE 9-5. Adam Heming's two hits led the Purple and White's offense.


The Tigers were tamed by Turpin's Spartans 12-3 in non-conference play. Spencer Sutter bashed a home run and drove in two teammates and Kevin Poe had three hits for the Red and Gray.


The Eagles were nipped by McNick 10-9. The hitting leaders for Milford were Chris Tichrich with two hits and two RBI, Ryan Houser with three hits, and Connor Ferguson with two base raps.

The Eagles were outlasted by Harrison's Wildcats 8-5. Houser and Trevor Cunningham both had a couple of hits for the Clermont countians in this Fort Ancient Valley Conference Buckeye Division duel.
