Live Oaks e-marketing students excel in district DECA competition

Eight Live Oaks students in the e-marketing program excelled in their categories in recent DECA district competition and will advance to state competition.

The competitions offered students the chance to demonstrate their business and marketing skills to educators and business leaders.

The five first-place winners and competition categories are Dana Sanchez, Milford, Entrepreneurship; Ashlynn Igel, Anderson, Principles of Marketing; Alysia Lang, Glen Este, Hotel & Lodging; Brea Reliford, Winton Woods, Sports and Entertainment; and Casey Neff, Glen Este, Principles of Finance.

Others who scored high enough to qualify for state competition are Jessica Evers, Milford, second place, Technical Sales Event; Courtney Berry, Milford, second place, Restaurant Management; and Vandela Vassil, Milford, third place, Hotel and Lodging.

Other Live Oaks e-marketing students also performed well in the DECA competition.

They include Samantha King, Goshen, third place, Principles of Marketing; Rodney Rivers Jr., Glen Este, fourth place, Retail Merchandising; Abigail Eberhardt, Loveland, fifth place, Vehicle Marketing; Sondra Brown, Winton Woods, fifth place, Quick Serve Management; Sarah Smith, Goshen, fifth place, Principles of Business; Brittany Turner, Glen Este, fifth place, Principles of Hospitality.

A total of 14 Live Oaks students received recognition at district competition, out of 17 Live Oaks e-marketing students who competed.
