Eugene Edwin Matt, 81, died Thursday, March 4, 2010 at Clermont Mercy Hospital. He was born April 30, 1928 in Norwood the son of Eugene and Florence Green Matt.

Mr. Matt worked for Cincinnati Tool Company while he was still attending Norwood High School. He worked for Cincinnati Milling Company until he was drafted into the U. S. Army in 1950. While serving in the Army, he was stationed in Germany with the 4th Infantry. He was in the first division to join NATO and was part of the New York ticker tape parade. After discharge, he worked for Fischer Body.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Helen Nicely Matt; one daughter, Peggy Abney and one brother-in-law, Bill Little.

He is survived by one granddaughter, Michelle (Bill) Smith; two great granddaughters; one sister, Shirley Little; one nephew and two great nephews.

Funeral services were held March 9 at Evans Funeral Home in Milford.

Entombment with military honors were held at Graceland Memorial Gardens Mausoleum.
