More than 200 Pierce Township residents crowded into the cafeteria at Locust Corner Elementary School Tuesday, Feb. 23 to hear township trustees respond to their questions about spending.

The Pierce Citizens Focus on Community group requested the meeting with trustees to clear up questions about a contract the township has with Chris Tetrault and to get answers to their questions about the hiring process and the cost to the taxpayers.

Tetrault was hired by trustees as Land Use Development Facilitator in October 2007. The position was not posted or advertised, according to the trustees. Tetrault was first hired on a contractual basis. The language for the contract was used on advice from the county prosecutors office.
