Five Clermont County grapplers went home with individual weight class titles from the Fort Ancient Valley Conference Wrestling tournaments.
Cory Clolinger, Amelia senior 103-pounder, was co-wrestler of the year in the Cardinal Division. He is a four-time FAVC-B champion. Jeff Wiederhold, head coach of Wilmington, won coach of the year honors. He is a former mat star at Clermont Northeastern High School from where he graduated in 1979.
Harrison Wildcats was the winning squad with 239 points, Loveland had 145, Glen Este 143, Milford 106, Anderson 91, and Winton Woods 42.5.
A pair of both Trojans and Eagles were individiual weight class titlists.
The Purple and White's Caleb Ervin was champion at 103-pounds and Blake Meyers at 130.
The Red and White's winners were Quentin Dunn at 135-pounds and Connor Dietrich at 152.
The other Glen Este placers were Josh Clift (125), Cody Burris (152), and Cory Burris (160) second, Mark Lowery (112) and James Mikolay (285) third, Drew Kearns (135), Caleb Prinz (145), Travis Jones (171), Kyle Turner (189), and Michael Kennedy (215) fourth.
The other Milford placers were Sammy Newberry (103), Jimmy Shamblin (140), and Drew Weigel (189) second, Jared Burgdorf (130) third, and Kenny Latchford (119) fourth.
Wilmington was the team champion. The host Hurricanes tallied 190 points, Turpin 187.5, Little Miami 179, Kings 106, and Amelia 80. Walnut Hills did not participate.
Clolinger was the Barons' lone individual weight class champion. The other placers for Amelia were Andy Clolinger (112) second, Dylan Newport (135) third, Tyler Scharf (140) fourth, Joey Thompson (152) fourth, Derrick Hopper (171) second, and Marc McDonald (215) fourth.
