Veterans Commission elects Cook president

The Clermont County Veterans’ Service Commission (VSC) has elected Ken Cook of Bethel as president in 2010; Howard Daugherty of Bethel will serve as vice president, and Don Chandler of Milford will be secretary. Other members of the commission are Bob Derr and Cliff Riley. The VSC elected officers at a meeting on Wednesday, Jan. 20.
Cook has served on the commission since 2002, and represents the VFW. He was in the Navy during the Vietnam era and is a lifetime member of the VFW, American Legion, Amvets, and the Vietnam Veterans of America (VVA).
Ken Cook
Derr has served on the commission since 2000, and represents American Veterans (Amvets). He served in Korea and during the Vietnam era with the US Marine Corps and is a lifetime member of Amvets, American Legion, VFW, DAV, VVA, the Marine Corps League, and is a 30 year member of the Forty & 8.
Daugherty has served on the commission since 2000 and represents Disabled American Veterans (DAV). He served during the Vietnam era with the US Army and is a lifetime member of the DAV, VVA, Military Order of the Purple Heart, VFW, Amvets, and the American Legion. Daugherty is also a member of the Ohio Military Hall of Fame.
Chandler served previously on the commission from 1997 through 2004, and represents the American Legion. He served in the US Navy during the Vietnam era and is a very active lifetime member of the American Legion, and Amvets, a 39-year member of the Forty & 8, and a member of the VVA.
