One dead in crash in Bethel

A Bethel man died in a crash at 1:30 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 9 at 2130 State Route 133 in Bethel.

According to Clermont County Sheriff A.J. Rodenberg, the crash was a result of a female driver, Misty Combs, 27, of Cincinnati, doing doughnuts in a field with a pickup truck.

The truck struck a tree killing the passenger, Todd Reed, 42, of 2130 State Route 133.

“The case is under investigation and will be discussed with the Clermont County Prosecutor’s Office for a determination if any charges should be filed,” said Rodenberg in a press release.

Reed is the son of James and Nancy Reed of Williams Corner. He leaves behind a business partner, Robin Tackett and a step-son, Brandon Tackett. He was a 1985 graduate of Clermont Northeastern High School and was the owner of Slice of Stainless in Cincinnati.

Visitation and funeral services were held Thursday, Jan. 14 at E. C. Nurre Funeral Home in Amelia.
