The village of Batavia celebrated Holiday in the Village Saturday, Dec. 12.
Visitors from all over the county joined the residents and Mayor John Thebout in an evening of family fun.
“The weather couldn’t have been any better,” Mayor Thebout said. “Everyone loved the free horse and carriage rides up and down Main Street, and the Village of Batavia Association did an exceptional job of making sure the first annual luminaria was a success.”
The Association had approximately 1,600 lights along Main Street, but others in the village participated as well.

The grand prizes included a two-night stay at the Cozy Cabin, donated by Wayne Holtzgrewe of Starr Cabinetry and Play Station Music Maker, donated by Dollar General.
The village's businesses and neighboring businesses donated food, drinks, and cookies.
"We had over 300 people come into the mayor's office, and many more simply walked up and down Main Street enjoying th festivities outside," Thebout said.
