The 29th Annual Amelia Christmas Parade was held Sunday, Dec. 13 in spite of the drizzling rain. There were 45 floats entered in the parade which usually boasts 75 or more entries, but organizers were pleased with the results.

“I understand that we had about half the normal entries,” said Amelia Mayor Leroy Ellington. “But the parade was successful and everybody who was there had fun.”

Those who participated in the parade ranged from area businesses and civic organizations to churches and schools. The parade ended with the arrival of Santa Claus.
