Strongest county volleyball finishes served up by Lions, ‘Cats’, E-Gals, and Bulldogs

The regular-scheduled season has come to an end for Clermont County’s high school varsity volleyball season. New Richmond, Williamsburg, Milford, and Batavia won the majority of their final battles and Goshen broke even.

New Richmond

The Lions defeated Batavia 25-23, 25-22, 25-18, Bethel-Tate 25-8, 25-14, Williamsburg 15-25, 25-15, 25-21, 25-18, Georgetown 25-22, 21-25, 25-15, 25-18, Blanchester 25-11, 25-23, 28-26, Felicity 26-24, 25-14, 25-18, Goshen 20-25, 25-22, 25-18, 25-19, and Clermont Northeastern 25-11, 25-18, 25-21. All of these triumphs were in the Southern Buckeye Conference.

Losses came from East Clinton 20-25, 25-14, 25-23 and Western Brown 25-21, 25-15, 25-12. Both of these games were in the Southern Buckeye.

Williamsburg

The Wildcats beat Clermont Northeastern 25-16, 25-13, 25-22, Bethel-Tate 19-25. 25-17, 25-23, 24-26, 15-7, Goshen 25-23, 25-23, 25-13, Blanchester 25-11, 25-14, 25-14, and East Clinton 25-21, 18-25, 25-21, 14-25, 15-10. All of these were Southern Buckeye Conference duels.

A loss came opposite Western Brown 25-15, 23-25, 25-23, 13-25, 15-13 in the Southern Buckeye.

Milford

The E-Gals emerged victorious over Anderson 15-24, 25-20, 26-24, 9-25, 15-5, Loveland 25-20, 25-13, 15-25, 25-17, Glen Este 25-17, 25-22, 25-22, Wyoming 21-25, 25-14, 25-21, Winton Woods 25-16, 25-14, 25-20, Amelia 25-23, 25-13, 25-17, and Loveland again 25-22, 25-13, 25-14. All, but the Wyoming fray were Fort Ancient Valley Conference confrontations.

Setbacks came versus Turpin 25-17, 13-25, 25-17, 25-14, McNicholas 25-20, 25-22, Anderson 25-19, 25-19, 25-22, Kings 25-21, 25-13, 19-25, 25-13, and Walnut Hills 25-23, 25-22, 20-15, 25-14. All but the game against McNick was opposite rivals of the Fort Ancient Valley.

Batavia

The Bulldogs won out over Bethel-Tate 25-16, 25-22, 25-17, Clermont Northeastern 25-20, 25-9. 19-25, 25-17, Goshen 25-13, 25-23, 25-19, Purcell Marian 18-25, 25-17, 25-23, 25-18, and Felicity 26-24, 25-19, 25-13. All but the Purcell Marian game were Southern Buckeye Conference clashes.

Serving up defeats were Western Brown 25-19, 25-22, 25-14, Summit Country Day 25-20, 25-22, 13-25, 18-25, 15-9, and East Clinton 26-24, 26-24, 11-25, 25-19. Western and East Clinton were games of the Southern Buckeye Conference.

Goshen

The Warriors whipped Withrow 25-23, 25-16, Riverview 25-13, 26-24, Felicity 25-22, 25-11, 25-15, Blanchester 25-21, 25-11, 25-22, Ripley 25-13, 25-19, 26-24 and Clermont Northeastern 25-16, 25-20, 25-6. The games against Felicity, Blan, and Northeastern were of the Southern Buckeye Conference variety.

Defeats were meted out in most directions by East Clinton 25-19, 25-21, 25-23, North Adams 25-13, 26-24 and Western Brown 20-25, 25-22, 25-14, 25-15. East and Western were Southern Buckeye bashes.

Amelia

The Barons beat Williamsburg 20-25, 14-25, 25-22, 27-25, 15-11, New Richmond 25-15, 25-17, 22-25, 25-5, Wilmington 25-13, 25-18, 25-20, Norwood 25-17, 25-20, 23-25, 27-25, Clermont Northeastern 25-11, 25-13, 25-12, and Glen Este 25-19, 23-25, 25-18, 20-25, 15-11. The showdowns with Wilmington and GE were both in the Fort Ancient Valley Conference.

Upendings came versus Turpin 26-24, 23-25, 27-25, 25-16, Little Miami 25-11, 25-18, 19-25, 25-20, Kings 25-18, 25-19, 25-16, Walnut Hills 25-20, 28-30, 25-21, 25-21, Turpin again 25-14, 25-16, 25-8, and again Little Miami 25-15, 25-19, 25-18. All of these contests were in the Fort Ancient Valley.

Bethel-Tate

The Tigers tamed Felicity 25-18, 25-13, 25-14 and Hillsboro 25-22, 25-28, 9-25, 18-25, 16-14. Arch-rival Felicity was a Southern Buckeye Conference game.

A defeat was dealt out by Western Brown 25-20, 25-13, 25-5 in the Southern Buckeye Conference American Division.

Glen Este

The Trojans whomped Winton Woods 25-9, 25-20, 25-20, Mt. Healthy 25-12, 24-25, 25-19, 25-13, and Winton Woods a second time 25-12, 25-23, 25-19. All three tilts were in the Fort Ancient Valley Conference.

Harrison handed the Purple and White a 25-15, 25-13, 25-11 setback as did Western Brown 25-17, 25-14, Loveland 23-25, 25-18, 25-18, 25-19, Anderson 25-19, 25-17, 25-15, Harrison once more 25-14, 25-18, 25-13, and Northwest 17-25, 25-19, 26-28, 25-22, 15-12. All but the game with the Brown countians were conference confrontations.

Clermont Northeastern

The Rockets were defused by Norwood's Indians 25-10, 25-16 and Finneytown's Wildcats 25-21, 25-19, 25-12. Both battles were out of county and non-conference encounters.
